Hey community. I am preparing for the first time to fight the Tek cave and the overseer on Gamma difficulty on my single player playthrough. I had bred 20 rexes for the bosses and ascension. Thankfully they got used during the bosses so they weren't a waste. The Sad part is I was never able to get the rexxes in the tek cave and ended up doing the glider through the cave, and the tek suit shooting the overseer on Gamma without tames so I could ascend.

Glider suit, shotgun with about 600 rounds, 2 tek chest pieces (in case one breaks if you are unpracticed) and enough element to stay floating for a while. You can solo the encounter by hovering in the Air the whole time and shooting down at the the overseer and occasionally landing to heal.
