Although if I could swap my 29SF for the 30SF, I could get the 10mm LW barrel for only $130 to accomplish my objectives. The 30S is nice but does not have any conversion barrels for the high powered rounds. LW makes a 9mm barrel for the 20 but not for the 29 or 30.

The OEM trigger parts and frame pins that are installed in the G30SF and G30 Gen4 (among other models) are shown in the table below. From the table, note that the G29SF and G30SF use the same ejector (8196-2). It's the part number for the extractor that differs between these two pistol models, not the ejector.

Share.As for being easier to carry than a 30, the difference in my opinion, is marginal. The 30S is just a 30SF with a 36 slide. The 36 slide isn't that much thinner than the 30 slide. Glock 30SF range report. Picked up a Gen 3 Glock 30SF a few weeks ago and have had it out to the range twice now and the after first mag it became my EDC pistol. I shot it so much better than the 17, 19 or 26 that ive owned in the past. Hard to get used to the cost of the ammo but i love this gun and it carries surprisingly well for its size.

If you are intent on the Glock in 45 cal as a carry piece, definitely go with the G30S. That small difference in the narrower slide is huge. The G30S weighs the same as my G19.The quick and dirty is that the 30SF is a full sized 30 slide on the Short Frame (SF). The SF frame reduces the distance between the front & back straps to allow for more trigger reach on the G30. The 30S is a G36 slide mounted on the SF frame.
