I just now realized that Emily is intentionally doing a nasally and congested voice in Neverafter. Its so subtle yet overly present that I 100% just thought she was sick! It wasnt until I was watching "Down Came the Rain" that I noticed she broke character to ask Brennan about a rules issue ...If it's against an intelligent enemy, who might have reason to capture the PCs and throw them in the dungeon, do that. An occasional TPK is fine. If you TPK or near-TPK them all the time, something is wrong. Worst case scenario, everyone dies and rolls new characters. This doesn't mean the end of the campaign. Really tough choice between Neverafter and Starstruck for worst PC-NPC social interactions. The bit with Gunnie, Sid and Barry in episode 2 of ASO is incredible, but the series of just disastrous interactions with the princesses in Neverafter made me stop watching multiple times because I was laughing too hard.

A full TPK in a limited episode campaign won't work. They'd have to do an entirely new intro episode to go through all 6 new characters all over again before we could get back to the story, and then they're still down 3 episodes because they have to relearn all the info the TPK party already gained and decide what to do about it again.

My players TPK’d in the Dungeon of the Dead Three. Bel appeared to the Clerics spirit, and said he’d resurrect them, but that the Cleric would owe Bel three favours. One of those favours? Bring me the Shield of the Hidden Lord. So now the players have a great reason to go to Avernus.
