I think it would do a deeper pocket, but the actual dimensions of the M16 Fire Control Group's pocket is considerably different in the rear in both shape and depth than a AR-15.

I’m not talking about low vs high shelf ARs, I’m talking about milling a lower to the exact internal dimensions of a M16, minus the sear hole. Armscorp did it, and they sold their lowers that way. Once it was timed correctly, I then milled out pocket a little, and used JB weld as a bedding material and bedded the dias to the lower. I did this for a couple lowers and I never messed with a shim again. if works in other guns, then it might just be bolt bounce. I wouldnt build different trips for each gun.
