I've found that the front case gets removed from the rear case, and all the transmission internals stay mounted to the rear case. I've removed: Input bearing retainer. Snap ring from input shaft. Reverse light switch.Many here prefer the Red Line synthetics, but Mr 325 is correct. However make sure it is a GL-4 75w90 gear oil. Do not use a GL-5 oil in the transmission. While we're at it, the differential takes a 75w90 GL-5 gear oil. Many prefer the Red Line 75w90.
