A few times during testing the ECM has had issues with the system being read, and emissions readiness problems. The last few years about 3 weeks before I bring the truck in for testing I remove the Range plug-in, reset the system by disconnecting the battery, and make sure I put about 200 mile on the truck before the test. I am certainly no mechanic but hopefully can answer a little - GMs are notorious for lifter issues caused by their AFM/DoD engines. Basically will turn your 8 cylinder truck into a 4 cylinder to get an extra mpg at best. There is little benefit to the AFM/DoD system but many expensive cons.
