Breech plugs are still available from Knight. The removal tool was for early MKs that had a slotted breech plug. The later ones were 7/16" hex head. The early 54s I believe were 5/8" x 18 tpi, the later were11/16" x 20 tpi.

I have the 209 version. Is there an improved breech plug I should be considering or is a "dirty girl" going to be just that. Not really worried about the dirty part of it but I am going to get a fine scope, mounts, and accessories to hopefully make it a tack driver. If an alternative breech plug could help Id like to get one.

The Lehigh plug is 17-4 stainless a really strong metal and the Lehigh/Knight plug is 416 stainless. The removable vent liner of the Lehigh BP is great.
