Mercer Island, WA, September 13, 2023 – Today 12 Mercer Island High School seniors were named 2024 National Merit Scholarship Semifinalists by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC). The MIHS students were part of the 16,000 semifinalists in the 69 th annual National Merit Scholarship program announced today.

About 16,000 students qualified for National Merit Semifinalist status this year from all 50 states plus overseas. In Minnesota, 274 students from 87 schools made the cut.
