I started off as an annihilation marauder but later tried out all specs before settling on fury. In terms of DPS, carnage is not doing as well as fury in the parses but that doesn't mean it's trash. For leveling 1-75, any spec will do just fine when it comes to pulling the numbers you need to clear adds fast enough so don't worry about that.
