You could use an AMC 360, it bolts up to those. I have tried to beat AW-4s into submission without luck, including towing 6,000+ lb. trailers (and not gently!) and just plain being dumb. If you aren't planning to use your XJ to tow with, it should handle the 4bt.

My plan is to take an Ecotec bell and machine it off in the middle and do the same for the AW4 lay them on top of each other center it and weld it. Not sure why the Chilton specifies a higher torque but I just looked at my FSM and it says to torque the pan bolts to 53-70 in-lb. I'd be very cautious about torquing them any higher.
