You can locate the manual save by running BotW and comparing the image you see when you go to load a save with the caption.jpg inside each numbered folder. With your folder located, (mine was 4) copy the game_data.sav file to the desktop and rename it to backup.sav that you can use to restore your game in case something goes wrong.
