SIG refers to it as a “game changer” and touts it as a revolutionary new pistol. When you move up from an LCP to something the size of a Glock 42, .380 can be a real pleasure to shoot. The P365 is virtually the same length and height as the Glock 42. The grip is about a tenth of an inch wider. In 9mm, the original P365 is a handful. It’s not horrible to shoot for 50 or 100 rounds, but it is objectively a snappy gun.

It seems the only significant difference between the G42 and the P365 is as you pointed out, the weight difference 11x9mm is a lot more weight than 7x380 (and a lot more fire power) and the width at the butt of the grip (which does matter to me as it pertains to concealability).
