Start as a Martial (Fighter/Barbarian/Champion etc) then pick up the Bard Dedication>Lingering Composition>Inspire Courage. Then by level 8 you can buff and swing your weapon like a mad man. Also Maestro imo is better for a melee bard compared to Warrior. Pf2 is my fave system in 35 years of rpg. But ludicrous amount of options is overwhelming.
