Shard dragon stellaris.
Two games in a row, the Shard Grand Dragon kills my planet because I "didn't challenge it" in time (paraphrased). It was impossible to challenge it. I sent my fleets to the system immediately when it appeared --distance 7 hyperplanes. I didn't get half-way there before I got notice it turned on the colony because I didn't challenge it. In this game, I am getting very few planets spawning.

If you've colonized the planet and aren't going to be able to fight Shard in the next couple years, you'll want to evacuate it.
